Dana created AnaOno after her own personal battle with breast cancer and reconstructive surgery left her little options in the bra department. Smart, driven, focused and with a background in fashion, she has created the ONLY line of lingerie exclusively for women who've had breast cancer-related surgeries.
When she asked me to shoot her product for her website, I was thrilled. When she asked me to help with launching her brand, I knew my life was changed forever.
In August of 2013, I took behind the scenes images and stills during the video shoot of AnaOno's "Never Alone." (Trailer below). This is a selection from that shoot. You can also visit AnaOno.com for more info.
She bears a presence most never have the privilege to experience. She is pure radiance. She is the person who lights up a room. She is the first to put you at ease. She has a personality that wraps around the Earth for days and weeks and years.
She embodies life. She's hysterically funny. She's real. She's unabashed. She makes you want to be better. And not because of anything other than her being herself.
Here's a woman, just a shade younger than myself, diagnosed first at 32 with breast cancer, and a year after her remission with Stage IV incurable bone cancer. Yet, if you met her, you would never know what she has been through and what she is going through - unless of course you've seen her talk about her illness, which will inspire you and bring tears to your eyes.
She put in time and effort through exhausting 14-hour days on the "Never Alone" shoot while making the most fatigued of our crew crack up at the end of the day (and at all points in between). I was healthy through the four-day ordeal, and even I was hurting and tired, and hot and sweaty and spent. I can't even begin to fathom how Jill felt. But, she picked US up.
Most of the laughter and conversation is a little R for this kind of story, but it is four days of my life I will never forget.
And I owe that all to her.
There is nothing in the world like Jill Conley.
And there will be nothing like her for eons to come.
